Enjoy one-hour-long flights over the scenic Lowveld section of the Blyde River. The scenery is comprised of farmland and private nature reserves at the foot of the Drakensberg Escarpment. This escarpment forms a natural amphitheater, providing shelter from the winds. This means that this particular area offers the very best in terms of safety, accessibility, and scenic views.
Cancellation on the part of a passenger, less than 24 hours before the commencement of the flight: 50% of the total cost.
No show without any notification: 100% of the total cost.
We might be forced to cancel a flight if wind or rain is expected. We do our utmost to get accurate weather information so that we can confirm or cancel a flight at 4pm the day before a flight. In some cases, however, the weather might unexpectedly turn bad overnight and then we must be able to contact the lodge or the passengers in the very early hours of the morning to stop them from driving needlessly to the launch site.
In the long run, we find that we can fly around 8 days out of 10, but sometimes we have windy spells forcing us to cancel the majority of flights. So, please bear with us if the weather disappoints.
